Claridge's Christmas Tree by Burberry

Light Initiative | Public Art | Commission

In 2015, Burberry collaborated with Claridge’s Hotel to transform its annual Christmas tree into a captivating art piece, becoming a landmark in Mayfair that attracted visitors worldwide.

The installation featured a striking 6-meter tower composed of undulating umbrellas in gold and silver chrome. Each umbrella was adorned with over 1200 motion-reactive LEDs, which created a mesmerising effect as guests descended the staircase, evoking the illusion of sparkling raindrops following their movements.

Collaborating closely with our partners, we meticulously crafted a design that reflected Burberry’s iconic style and heritage. The installation not only enhanced the festive ambiance of Claridge’s but also showcased Burberry’s commitment to innovation and creativity.

By integrating cutting-edge technology with artistic flair, we created an immersive experience that engaged guests on a visual and emotional level. The shimmering raindrops symbolised luxury and elegance, resonating with Burberry’s brand identity and leaving a lasting impression on visitors from around the globe.

This collaboration exemplified Burberry’s tradition of blending fashion with art and innovation, transforming Claridge’s Christmas tree into a celebrated cultural spectacle that delighted audiences and reinforced Burberry’s status as a global luxury brand.
